Kansas Broker Licensing Requirements
To apply for a Kansas Broker license, you must:- Be licensed and actively engaged in real estate for at least two of the past three years

Required Prelicense Education
- If you are not licensed in another state, you must complete:
- 30-hour Broker Real Estate Fundamentals Course
- 30-hour Broker Real Estate Management Course
- If you are licensed in another state, you must complete:
- 30-hour Broker Real Estate Management Course
- 4-hour Kansas Law Course
Steps to Begin the Process
- Create an account at the KREC Citizen Access Portal: https://aca-prod.accela.com/
KANSAS/Default.aspx. - Select Broker Prelicensure and pay the $120 application fee and background check fee.
- After payment of the $120 application and background check fee, you will receive your pre-license number.
- Submit your PL number to Career Education Systems before finishing your first course.
- Complete fingerprinting per KREC guidelines: https://www.krec.ks.gov/
applicants/fingerprinting.
- Supervising broker info (or company creation documentation)
- License history certification(s) from any other states
- Transaction documentation (MLS full detail sheets, agent logs, or broker transaction forms)
- $175 license fee and $100 open company fee (if applicable)

Sample Note: In order to obtain a Kansas Broker's license, you must:- Be licensed and actively engaged in real estate activities for two of the past three years. The required number of transaction points varies depending on years of licensure.
- Complete the 30-hour Broker Real Estate Fundamentals Course.
- Pass the test.
- Complete a-30 hour Broker Real Estate Management course.
- This course, Kansas Broker's Real Estate Fundamentals Course, is a visual presentation course.
- Course consists of 6 chapters.
- As you move on to each chapter, the previous chapters may be reviewed.
- You may enter and exit the program as you wish. You may be prompted to enter your user name and password to login each time.
- Final quiz consists of 50 multiple choice questions. You must have a passing score of 90%. If you do not pass the first time, an alternate quiz will be provided.
- Important: You must provide your pre-license number to Career Education Systems before completing this course. Without it, your course completion cannot be reported to the Kansas Real Estate Commission, and your licensing exam cannot be scheduled.
- After passing the quiz and submitting your pre-license number, you will be able to record your score and print your certificate.
Exam Scheduling
Once your 30-hour Broker Real Estate Fundamentals Course completion is reported to the Kansas Real Estate Commission, Pearson VUE will email you instructions to schedule your exam. You do not need to call Pearson VUE directly. Click here for step-by-step licensing instructions.
